Tonight I went with my Harlem middle school children to see Elie Weisel speak. It was a VERY big honor, and since our 8th graders have just finished reading about and studying the Holocaust, one of the student teachers organized this outing. The great think about it was not only did he speak at the 92nd Street Y, he also allowed our students to have a question and answer session before his talk. It was truly amazing. Please read about his life here. We were so very fortunate to snap a picture with him (middle in a chair) before his speech. What a most surreal and vivid honor this was.
