I guess the parents in East Harlem choose bust, cause they sure as spit didn't show up to the Family Literacy Night that Patrice, my co-worker and I planned for tonight.
Uhg. So I spent an extra several hours at school tonight waiting around for the parents to come, share a meal and talk about spreading literacy and sharing reading in their homes (no matter what language!). Didn't fly. None of them showed. So Patrice and I just looked at each other over beans and rice. Shrug. What a day. It was far too long. I'm starting to feel the stress creep back up again.
I came home and Dan had prepared dinner for me, but I wasn't even that hungry, and I was exhausted. It looked delicious though, so I had a bit.

We sat around with Dan's friend Michael watching and commenting on American Idol, then watched a crazy
YouTube video about
Jimmy Kimmel (click Jimmy, then
Kimmel). I would not suggest anyone over the age of 30 to watch this video since it's pretty crude, however, to anyone who watches that show and enjoys dirty pop culture, this one's for you!
Our couchsurfers came home late, Dag and Maria from Sweden. They are pretty cool, and we chatted for a bit before everyone decided it was time to crash. I am about ready to fall asleep on my keyboard, so this is it for today. I choo choo choose Literacy.
