Spartans Down, Heads Up!

I met up tonight with my friend Leonard at the MSU Alumni bar in Manhattan. It's the place to be for any Michigan State sports viewings. Since tonight we made it to the Sweet 16 in the NCAA tournament, I thought it fitting that I head out to support my Spartan boys!

The company was good (Leonard also brought is friend Janae) and we had a good time standing around in the bar till half time, when we ventured outside to move on to the next place where we'd have more room to sit. Janae decided to head home, and Leonard and I struck up a conversation with a fellow Spartan. Turns out he's one of the head honchos and when he heard that we were thinking of hitting the road he ushered us right back in to the bar and back to the back room, which is always full of the regulars and VIP fans. It was rad!

Other than the fact that we won by a gazillion points.

It's ok boys, there's always next year! But there will never be another 2001 Championship (one of the best nights of my LIFE, SO FUN to be out on the streets with crazy college kids!) So here's to my home state school, my blood still runs green, even in New York!
