All Summer in a Day

What a lovely day it was! I first experienced the glorious weather when having to escape from my school in the Bronx today during my lunch hour. Seriously. I just had to leave. What a day. No one ever really quite knows what's going on there and the stress oozes out of the walls. Not so fun sometimes. So I fled. I fled into the warmth and glorious sunshine and took a walk down to the local Starbucks to purchase a delicious iced beverage. I felt better!

As soon as I got out of work, all I wanted to do was relax. I chilled on the bus ride home (I was told to "chillax" more than once today by children). They also think it's funny to call me Ms. Residence. Who the hell knows why? Do you hear a connection? Cause I don't. Anyway, the weather put me in a good mood. I have a few brief minutes to lay on my bed and check my e mail next to my open window this evening. I sort of was digging the sound of birds chirping, a dog barking, oh and the two guys cursing each other out in the street about who had more room to park.

I had been invited to dinner with my long lost friend Jaime from Toronto. I met her in college at MSU, and we lived together in both the dorms and in the student ghetto of East Lansing in a ca-razy house full of misfits and hooligans our Junior year. Alas, it was incredible to see her, we re-bonded right away, and I had a really great night of good conversation and good food at Benihana's. Love that place-cook right in front of you. My favorite is the little steaming volcano of onions. Ace!
She brought along her baby, Julian, aged 1 1/2, and her husband David and his friend... Something (who was a really nice guy actually). Here's the baby making it's "funny face" tonight after the meal.
