Out and About

It was a slow start to the day, but my apartment was mostly clean last night, so that was nice. I woke up for the first full day of 28 with a skip in my step. Mainly because we were going to the Diner down the road for the best ommelet I've ever had.

I had a chance to meet up with some NYU friends who were in town (My friend Lindsay now lives and teaches in Texas) and caught up with them over some Pinkberry (man, I can't get enough of that stuff!). Heather, Dan and I took a cab down to Times Square to go see a private screening of a movie called Sex Drive that Dan got free tickets too. It was in a viewing room, not a theatre, so it had these big comfy seats, more like a state of the art home theater. The movie was like a teen road trip movie, along the lines of American Pie, and was actually a lot funnier than I thought it would be. It'll make a lot of money when it comes out.
We walked home through Central Park, which was gorgeous. The weather has cooled off a bit and so it was a nice day to walk. We stopped at the Central Park Conservatory pong where little remote control sailboats go racing around during the summer. I just loved how this dad and kid were playing with their boat together.

I had to get a picture of this blimp over the Resevoir because I knew I wanted to mention here how I see a blimp in New York City almost every day. Seriously. I don't know what it is with these things here, but they are everywhere during the summer. I could only find info about them from the past.
